Naturally, you'll have to supply your own hard drive, but the enclosure will handle most of the media-playing abilities you'll likely want (including DivX and even DVD VOB file playback), and you'll get a decent enough complement of ports, including VGA, component, composite, s-video, and an optical digital audio output. Some of the specs of this module has been released to the internet. Apparently, this one will boast GSM/UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, along with a high-res 3-inch 800x480 display (no word on resistive or capacitive), and some form of mobile TV, although specifics on that are a bit light at the moment. The phone also apparently measures just 11.5mm thick, which makes it a smidgen slimmer than the iPhone and, as we had heard before, it could be out in Europe as soon as next month

Jam TEC update - 09/02/05 Timex Expedition WS4

The folks at Timex has come up with this new wrist watch will give you so many details. They are launchign the first 2 TB hard drive? I had my money on Hitachi or Samsung. It is seriously cool to see Western Digital releasing such a massive hard drive.
The WD20EADS uses four platters (500 GB each with 400 Gb/in2 areal density). The drive also has a 32 MB buffer.

Do we need 2 TB hard drives? Hell yes, and here is why:

1. SLR Cameras are taking over the market. Raw image files can be over 10 MB each! The new Canon 5D Mark ii. It’s a 21 megapixel monster and the raw image files 25.8 MB! Shoot 800-1000 images in a photo shoot. That over 2 GB per shoot.

2. Bluray movies are massive and we love to rip them at high quality. I am spoiled. Avi files and divx can suck a goat. H.264 looks so much better. Plus, I love my MKV files with their embedded audio files and subtitle selections. An avi file (at normal quality) is about 750 MB. My H.264 files are between 1.3 and 2 GB.

3. Games are getting bigger. I don’t really need to talk much about this.

4. Small HD video cameras are on the market. These 720p video files devour your hard drive. The Canon 5D also shoots full 1080p video. It’s so good that it is sinister. 30 minutes of footage takes about 4GB of space.

5. P***… you sick people.

There are several other reasons. I don’t want 2 TB of space, I freaking need it. What are your thoughts on the new 2 TB drive from Western Digital?

I’ll post benchmarks as soon as some surface (or someone will post them in the forum, lol).

Jam TEC update - 08/11/23 Four Eyes USB Stick Combines Everything – Everything! – in One

Four-eyes. A taunt I heard almost daily in school, although curiously it never bothered me. I think I was so relived to be able to see after years of blind squinting at the class blackboard that I just found the name-calling rather sad and pathetic.
Four Eyes is also the name of this USB bookmark. In the manner of our rather disastrous how-to video on hacking novelty USB drives, the folks at IMM stuffed a thumb-stick into these specs in the hope of gleaning some geek-chic. The spex can also be slid betwixt the pages of a real life paper book to save your place, a rather old fashioned notion.

In fact, these glasses leave us rather confused. It's as if the designer, Willie Tsang, took a whole bag of concepts, shook them up like Scrabble tiles and pulled out this rather dyslexic design. Still, while they might be "conceptual", they're not a mere concept. The 5800 XpressMusic is went on sale in UK a few days ago and is available in the US only as an unsubsidized and unlocked phone.

Maybe this could spur a US telecom carrier to pick up this device for its network.

Jam TEC update - 24/01/09 ATi Radeon 4000 Series Mobile

The ATI is now mobile. The GTX 285 has been given the formal treatment too -- despite not being available until next week. If you missed the earlier specs, the $499(ish) 295 includes dual 55-nm GT200 GPUs and supports nearly 2GB of memory, while the $399 285 makes do with but one processor and an undisclosed RAM ceiling (though the upcoming Winfast, pictured above, comes with 1GB and one yellow robot). Again the 295 is up for order now, while slightly more budget conscious gamers will have to wait until January 15 for the 285.

Jam TEC update - 07/01/09 Logitech Gaming Board

Flush with the success of its G13 Game Board, Logitech is now creating a whole series of peripherals that will all work together to celebrate the seventh letter of the alphabet. The G-series line includes a new $199 G19 keyboard, offering a 320 x 240 color LCD mounted on top and 12 "G-keys" that can have up to three macros assigned to each. Next up is the $129 G35, a 7.1 surround-sound headset with integrated "voice-morphing" options for those who'd rather sound like a space squirrel than domestic gamer. Finally, there's a new flavor of the G9 Mouse, dubbed the G9x, which loses the photo-overlay in favor of a maximum DPI of 5000 -- that's a whole 1800 more than before! The GTX-295 is going to be fast, but will it be fast enough to be worth the money ($500)?

It beats the 4870×2 by 15 fps in Far Cry 2, 5 or 6 fps in Crysis Warhead, about 4 fps in Fallout 3. So, it is barely faster in most games. However, it is twice as fast when playing Dead Space (212fps at 1920×1200 vs. 110 with the 4870×2).

Here are some specs:

55 nm Fabrication Process

575 Mhz Core

1242 Mhz Shader Clock

1792 Video Memory (wtf!)

1000MHZ (2000 Mhz DDR) Memory Clock

448-bit per GPU

224 GB/s

Power: 1 x 6 pin and 1 x 8 pin power connector

289 Watts Max Power

If you are playing Dead Space you should definitely look at this card. I also anticipate that the performance delta between this and the 4870×2 will grow as newer games are released and as Nvidia improves drivers.
I would not upgrade if you have a 4870, GTX 260, or better. However, if you always have to have the fasting thing, this is it.
Here are some images

Jam TEC update - Christmas Special

Ok every one. The first Nokia S60 touch screen device. Straight away get in to the spec of this new born. Before that i personally feel this is the perfect replacement for iphone and i think it'll be better than the Blackberry Storm.

This device works on 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 ) and 3G (HSDPA 900 / 2100 ) networks.
This device weights 109g with a dimention of 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm, 83 cc
Now the most important part of the device, the screen. We said “excellent” but we don’t know why…. It looks like a simple desktop webcam, but the Hong Kong maker announced it as the "hottest webcam"
According to Earth Trek it's “ Different from general webcams, this desktopversion can avoid scratches on your LCD screen”… Hummm… yep, why not, and it’s probably true since we’re talking about a web camera designed to be used on a desktop
It features a metal sliding cover to protect the camera, an auto focus, auto brightness, snap button, and a 2 port USB Hub. It provides a VGA quality image (640x480), and has a 1.3 Mpix sensor.

The Storm is out.

Hi there, having a kick start on the week? Anyway have a look in to the new BlackBerry "Storm". In my opinion this thing is far more better than the Apple iphone. Storm is the first touch screen device for BlackBerry. This BlackBerry storm looks so sexy and packed with latest technology. Lets see wht this thing got in side that black sleek casing.

This device works on 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 ) and 3G (HSDPA 2100/CDMA2000 1x EV-DO) networks. The storm weights 155 g, and the best part is the screen. It got a TFT touchscreen, 65K colors, 360 x 480 pixels, 3.25 inches + Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate (how cool is that). Anyway lets look at the memory and the processor of STORM. This thng got a microSD (TransFlash), microSDHC, up to 8 GB, 128 MB RAM, 1 GB storage memory, 624 MHz CPU. This thing is fast. The connectivity of Storm - Got GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps, EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps, 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth v2.0 and USB v2.0
This runs on BlackBerry OS and got 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, autofocus, video, flash (iphone don't have a flash), Built-in GPS, 3.5 mm audio output jack, Video player MPEG4/3gp/H.264/WMV. This thing can also send and recive MMS which the apple iphone couldn't, and that's impressive. Any way the whole point is in the price tag of the master pice. This will cost you $249.99 with the 2yr contract. It'll be some time that it would hit the SL market but It'll be coming to the Singapore market soon. Have fun..

Jam TEC update - 08/11/23 SE01 Epi 02

First i didn't believe what i saw. this is insane people.. What is a song or music? What is mean to you? I’ll tell what it means to me. In a song, the lyrics make me think about my past present and future.
When you like a song so badly, it means the song got one or more incidents in your life. The lyrics are so close to our life. When you hear to your favorite song, you’ll be going back
to your memories or your imagination. Every one loves that feeling. So do I. Life isn’t good to us at every time. We have to make it a better one.

PSP

Few days back my exams were over and messing around with my PC. Since it's soooo boring i thought of playing the CRYSIS warhead. I have to say it was a crap. I was expecting much more from that game. The graphics were awesome. But the game was so easy and extra boring for me.. With just a little effort i manage to finish the game. No swet at all. Later in the evening I went out to have a walk. I get in to one of my friends shop. He seems to be busy, so i walk right up to him. What i saw was so amazing. It was the new SONY PSP 3000 series. This pice of gaming console was my dream. I ask him who bought it. Fortunetly it was owend by one of my friend too. So i got the chance to plaly some games. The most interesting stuff i the new PSP is that it got the new anti glare LCD screen.. damn it's so gr8.. u wouldn't have any kind of a reflection from the LCD. it's so eay to play games in light.. Also the other stuff is u can play 720p videos.. it's cristal clear videos quality and 5.1 audio enabled.. It's one damn pice of hand held entertainment. My need of having a PSP is going more and more.. Too bad that i' hoping to spend some of my money on another special product i dreamed of. After i get it i'm gonna make plans to buy this. Ohh. i really need this.. i think i might sound lyk a kid, but i luv technology.. and i will never let go a tecnology lyk this ever.. Don't u wanna have it?? never think twice..hehe..

Not again

Isn't it gonna over.. i can't do this and can't take this any more.. i'm trying so hard to forget, but it comes to my mind each time i try to do..yes it's true that i did it would become so serious.. but in the end it didn't went that way... Hmm.. It seems that hopes that i had brought me to the position i am now. But at a time i think having hopes is a risk, in a way hopes can make you broke you up completely. I thought i was gonna have that experience but lucky i didn't.. Any way my opinion is people should have hope in life but not in BIG time.. just small.. i think it's better. Because the pain you'll get in a uncomplete hope is so hard.. I think all of the readers would agree on it.. don't u???? What do you think of having hopes..??? how did it work out for you..??
I think this is why our religion say inshallaha on matters on future. If we made it certine, there will be hope in it. but saying inshallah will make us not have a tight hope. just to have a thought on it..It's better not to have too much HOPE in our life.. The teachers and other staff in the school will be looking after us and show us the correct path to move on in our life. They have helped us in many ways to male our life more meaningful. In every ones school life there is someone called class mates, I too used to have some, but not many. I use to be bit lonely by my self. Most of my mats are my kinder garden mats. Most of them use to come to this school.
In the first grade, I can still remember that we had a fat teacher and she was really kind to us and she thought us so many stuff. In the class we use to have group work, and my group will be around five (Me, Ranga, Dinusha, Ranjitha, Dilshan). We did so many crazy things together. Me and Ranga use to throw stones to the other school next to our school (There is a girl’s school next to our school). The most interesting part is, in that time our school ground is under construction so the heavy machines are cutting down the hills to make the ground bigger. We use to get in to the top of the hills and slide down through the hills. One day we use to have the maximum fun of it at the interval and the worse thing is that we forgot the time to go back to the class room. When we go back to the class room the teacher and the primary section principal was standing in front of the classroom door. It was the first day that I caught up with a wrong and went to the principals’ office. I will never forget that day in my life.
At the grade five things got changed and I use to have some new friends. One day at the interval it was heavily raining and there is no way to go to the ground but our crew went to the ground to play and after some time I just felt like a thunder ball hit on my head, when I turn back it’s the principal. After that day onwards I never user to play when it is raining.
After grade five all our class mates are scattered and mixed up. The principal say it’s good to up us mixed with other classes. So I use to have some of my old friend and some new students came to school by the scholarship. When I was in the grade six my self and Ranga and Dinusha use to play cards in the class room and one day we caught to the school senior prefect and they informed to the class teacher. I thought the things will get worse but the things went other way around. She told us not to do it again. In our school time there are so many broken arms and scratches all over the body. But in another way I seem to be fun.
I use to have a little fight with one of the boys in the school and n that fight the boy push me out and I use to have a bone fracture in my left hand. Still it’s there. But after that most of our crazy thing went off, some times most of our friends have to change the class and some of them concentrate on the studies.
When I was in grade nine I get on with the interact club and as a member I use to do the necessary things. In grade ten, we went to a conference in visshaka Girls College, on that time I was appointed as the financial director of the club. In the conference they have a work shop for each and every executive member in the club.
I don’t know what you’ll be telling about this because I think this is the day that I met my happiness and my sadness. I think I should tell it like this to you,” I found my love (for now we’ll say school time love)”. She was also a financial director of their interact club, we meet up in the work shop room and we had a little chat after the work shop. I think this made a mile stone in my school life, found a love when going to school. I think this experience should have all the boys at their school time. It’s kind a experience to your future life. I’m not going to force anyone, but I got some experience and some of my friends also had the same but still there are some friends that they haven’t even talk to a girl. So that is some of my happy and sad moments in my school life. I think it’s enough to speak about this matter.
The O\L was the first hurdle in our school life. Most of us know it’s easy to jump but the preparation need to be done. In this class I meet some new friends and they kind a my type so it’s satisfying for me. The exam was not very tuff and we had lot of fun at the end of the exam and this one of the most memorable time in my life. I still think is there any chance that I can go back in time and have that same feeling again.
After the exam there are twelve of our gang, we organize our self and we had a walk to the city and on our way met some other school boys and some of our friends got some problems with them and there was a fight in the road and the funniest thing is the person who came to hit us just fell of to the drain pipe and he was hurt. And one of our friends was missing at the end. Anyway we found him on top of a tree.
We went to the pizza hut to have our last day party and we saw a couple sitting next to our table and the most important thing is that they have order the food in back wards. First they had the ice cream and they had the milk shake and after that they had the pizza, it was really funny to our guys and we even shouted at them at the place.
After the party we all went home with happy memories and promise to see each other in few more months.
After some months we start out higher studies and the sad thing is most our early friends was doing commerce and art subject. I was doing math, I got a limited friends in the class room. I got Hamza and Ishan as my friends. Still there are some other boys but we are closer than them. We had lot of fun with three of us and if I’m going to tell them I need some time to say them to you so I think school life is the best memories in your life and a place that you can’t forget. So what I tell is get the maximum of the school time, because it wouldn’t come back to you again.

Smile

Smile is a feeling that has so many meanings. Because of this matter doesn’t need to have a marriage or a sexual relationship in their life. But once, the God has separated them as men and women, after that they seek for their other half to make there life fulfill. This is what the history tells us.

But the science explains it as, one type of DNA in a person looks for the best match for it, But as in my knowledge and 19 years of my life I experienced, I think marriage doesn’t consist both the points. It’s the intention of each and every individual that makes the marriage so important. For an example if you go out and ask some people “why do you need a marriage?” each and every individual has a different answer to tell. Marriage is not a pure advancement of a relationship between a man and women. There’s more inside stories to make. People say that a marriage couple or lovers don’t have secrets in their life, but still there are. Think about it.

I have some points in my mind that why do people need a marriage life. Some need a marriage because their parents need so, that is one of the worse decision that a parent can make and your bad moment of accepting a decision without any judgment. But the parents can think that “My son / Daughter should have a good future”, so they should marry. The first point is, did the parents ask from them that they really need this or do you wish to do this. This is one of the biggest problems in Asian countries. Parents need to free their minds, they need to take off the risk in their life. In my point of view I total disagree with the decision. They should ask them, they are the one who’s going to live their life together.

Some need a marriage life to make his life going without any risk. Most of the men do this kind of things (as in my knowledge, but there’s an incident made my mind that I’m wrong, women do the same thing). They look for a family that has money, assets and a good job, etc. I think you also feel that this is so wrong. But can’t help with this matter. It really happens.

As a advice or any, what I want to say is that ask your self the question that do you really need a marriage? If yes, what I’m gonna tell you is build a good relationship and think of a marriage.

Any way I strongly believe that the marriage is not a must in every ones life. It should be an optional event in the life. Some people think that it’s a must, and ruin their personal and marriage life, just for nothing. The person should have the faith and courage to tell him self that I can live my life and make my future a better one with out a partner in my life.
